Excitement is mounting! For the final copy edits of my next picture book ‘Can I Come Too, Eliza-Lou?,’ illustrated by Rebecca Cool, I was emailed this story in an electronic format which Wild Eyed Press sends on to their graphic designer. The graphic designer makes alterations to the position and shape of the text on each page, and works with the illustrations, to create cover pages, and end papers for the book.  It was really exciting to read this story combined with the gorgeous illustrations created by Rebecca in complete form.

Wow!!

I also viewed these illustrations in full glory on my way up to Perth for Book Week. Rebecca produces her artwork on huge canvases and I got to see these lining the floor of her gallery in Margaret River. These canvases are professionally photographed by the publisher and scanned and converted into an electronic format before printing takes place.

At this stage, Wild Eyed Press are releasing four new titles in their catalogue at the end of next month. A joint launch is planned for Sunday the 29th of October in Perth. Watch this space for further details if you would like to celebrate this with us. Launch details will also be announced in next month’s WA branch of the CBCA and the SCBWI newsletters.
